Here’s how you can light up your home for the festival of lights!

The festival of lights is around the corner and its time to brighten our homes with all those beautiful lights, Diyas and lamps! Light…

Its all about the little things! Tea lights are great for Diwali as they are easy to use and can be placed anywhere. I place a few in my rooms and give them a more cozier look by adding a few around the beds. Key is getting every nook and cranny of your home to light up and make it ready for celebration. Throw in a few blingy or shiny accessories to your rooms like cushions I have used here and wall hangings to make things more festive. Battery operated tea lights help in extending the look for even after the festival and keeps the rooms warm and beautiful:

Use of tea lights inside rooms definitely gives it a more festive and warm feel

Fairy lights are a constant for Diwali! They are fun and pretty and everyone loves them. Lets try pepping things up by using them in different ways than just bordering out balcony railings. Fairy lights are easy to set up using tapes and can be made into any shape you would like, so lets get creative and work on a mini DIY decor this Diwali! I choose to light up the rooms with fairy lights for a different lighting scheme from the usual , here are a couple of ideas I have had in my rooms:

Use them to border your pictures and accentuate the wall, use easy shapes like hearts, triangles for starters

Try out more complicated designs by using pencil marks as guide and pasting the lights using tape, go for shapes or designs which are geometrical for easier setting up.

Use sheer curtains with lights to make the rooms more dressy. Use of translucent materials with lights gives the set up an elegant and festive touch. Add a few golden curtains or sheers around to make the look more grand for festive seasons:

Ever wanted that superstar mirror and wondered how expensive it would be?! Well, its just another simple trick away! Border your mirrors with fairy lights using tape, double sided tape (Transparent tapes work the best) or just hang it around! Make sure you leave enough lights to reach the plug points and voila you have your superstar mirror ready for Diwali!
